Agatha All Along's Joe Locke Breaks Silence on Teen's Identity Reveal (2024)

This article contains MAJOR SPOILERS for Agatha All Along Episode 5, "Darkest Hour, Wake Thy Power."

Events come to a head for the makeshift coven in Agatha All Along Episode 5, and the new reveals only create bigger mysteries for the series. Teen's identity is also confirmed, linking the character to one of the MCU's biggest villains.

Teen is finally revealed as Scarlet Witch''s son Wiccan in Agatha All AlongEpisode 5, confirming the prevailing fan theory about his identity. This is hardly a surprise to many, since the character's name has been inadvertently leaked in promotional materials previously released. Still, the cast's commitment to keeping the secret in press junkets was commendable, especially with Joe Locke, who plays Teen in the series. The actor took to Instagram to express his relief that he can now speak openly about Teen in future interviews. He also confirmed he's known about Teen's true identity since he was cast in the series.

This Popular Fan Theory Explains the Teen's Motivations in Agatha All Along

Fans of the MCU's Agatha All Along are invested in one certain theory that could explain Teen's mysterious history and endearing purpose.

Locke addressed Episode 5's big reveal in his Instagram story, and it was short and sweet. "2 years of keeping this secret…," he wrote (per Screen Rant). The actor joined the show's ensemble in November 2022, when he was teased to play Teen, the show's male lead. The character's placeholder name teased a huge twist, and the episodes were also creative in concealing Teen's name in scenes (his lips were sealed with a sigil, or his voice was drowned out by background noises). Agatha dropped the biggest hint before the reveal, however, when she told Teen he's as temperamental as his mother.

Teen's True Identity Creates Bigger Mysteries

Agatha's hint was begging for a WandaVision plot link, and toward the end of the episode, Teen is revealed wearing Scarlet Witch's headpiece. Teen as Wiccan only creates more questions, however: Wanda's children were imaginary in WandaVision, so it's unlikely Teen is the boy Wiccan in that series. In Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Wanda set out to other dimensions to find her sons and appease her grief, so Teen could be a multiverse variant of Billy Maximoff. The tease only adds to the show's mystique; in Episode 3, Marvel Big Bad Mephisto was also casually mentioned, foreshadowing him as the MCU's next antagonist.

An MCU Theory Makes Mephisto the Cause For the MCU's Biggest Problems

Agatha All Along finally confirmed Mephisto exists, but one theory might tie him to all the things in the MCU that didn't quite work.

Showrunner Jac Schaeffer said the hints sprinkled throughout the series were her way of stoking fan theories. "It still stops my heart," she told Variety. "My preoccupation is maximum viewer enjoyment, so I get nervous when people get ahead of it. I have to trust that humans are capable of deciding what kind of experience they want. But I comfort myself with the knowledge that it's a circuitous path, and I hope that that path is enjoyable." Fans can expect a wild ride toward Agatha All Along's season finale, as the show reveals more ties to WandaVision with the Wiccan theory now confirmed.
